What is the most profound sign to prove that someone loves you?
We are using a lot “I love you” today. In movies, songs and real life. But we are all are witnesses of broken promises, disappointments and lack of trust in real love. So when God speaks about His love, we compare it with our experience of love and have difficulty to believe it. But the verse in John 3:16-17 is very unusual: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Everytime we struggle being able to believe it, it’s not because it is not true, but we are used to believe camouflaged lies. Jesus was the only human that come into our world to die. And his death was the most meaningful death as he took the penalty for our rebellion and sin upon himself when he became the reconciliation between God and man.
As we are doing the journey of being established in God’s love, think about the sacrifice. What is the highest price you would like to pay that you might be reconciled with those who did you wrong?
This is a strange question, because we are unable to see hearts like God sees them. We are afraid to trust, but when Christ said to love the enemies, he was the first one to do so. He forgave his enemies and in the cross he prayed that it would not be considered as they didn’t know why they were doing his execution.
Such love amazes me. I can trust in such love which is eternal and to keep me in moments of fear, guild and disappointment. I can build my christian life upon the love of Christ. He didn’t came to judge the world but to save it. Let’s this be foundation in our building of faith. Let’s trust in his love.
