God’s love for you is faithful – Day 2

clouds-2709662_1920Today is the second day of the 10-day journey to be Established in God’s Love.

We are going to be reminded on God’s faithfulness. Psalm 117:1–2 proclaims:

Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

To understand better why the Psalmist has confidence in God, let’s read the promise of Jesus at John 10:28–30

I give them eternal lifeand they will never perishand no one will snatch them out of my hand.My Fatherwho has given them to me,is greater than alland no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

The love of God pursues us, is looking for us and will keep us when we can’t keep ourselves. We have broken relationships with other humans, because of the lack of faithfulness to each other and the lack of strength in difficult moments. We fail ourselves and we fail others, that’s why we shouldn’t compare faithfulness of God with our horizontal relationships. Nothing compares with His Love and nothing compares with His faithfulness towards us.

As I have been studying fundraising some years ago, I learned this truth that I believes goes beyond fundraising: “Never say NO for someone else”. Just because I think that person might be in bad shape or in lack, I can’t decide that the person is not going to be a giver. Think that regarding God’s faithfulness. Sometimes we judge our situations and of other people with our own judgement and sometimes we believe that us or others gave gone too far for God to reach. Always we are proved wrong.

God’s love and faithfulness stay together and will reach you, people you love and those you dislike despite our miscalculated predictions. Let’s settle this in our soul. God is going to pursue you faithfully, so don’t run away from your past or your shameful hidden life. Bring it to the light of Christ and let God be the right judge in your life cleansed by faith in the finished work of Christ.
