“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
God has offered us His peace. The reality of peace is that it is not the absence of chaos but the presence of calm within the chaos. As you face the new year, remember God has promised you his peace. But peace doesn’t come as an individual blessing from God, but it is part of all the package. Peace comes when we abide in God’s promises and His written word. That means we should be careful with kind what news we are filling our hearts and eyes as all type of news bring either peace or trouble and insecurity. That’s why God’s news is called good news. And good news always give you peace. So when you pray as Philippians 4 instructs you to do, keep it in your mind to guard carefully all the doors to your heart.
Prayer: “Lord, in spite of what I see and everything happening, I pray for your complete peace. In my circumstances help me not to be anxious or troubled. Help me to trust you about everything, leaving it all in your hands, as I do my part in solving my challenges and others. As I do let your peace rest in my heart as I trust in you. In your name I pray, Amen.”
